Jet Vermilion

The Jet Vermillion is a bizzare vehicle, sporting the worst turn performance and acceleration of any racer in the F-Zero series. Accessible only through very arcane methods, it is fairly obscure.

Despite the drawbacks, the Jet Vermillion is an excellent machine that easily sets best track times several seconds faster than any other machine. This exceptional performance is due in large part to a quirk in how the Jet Vermillion turns.

Ironically, the terrible turn performance is what allows for close and fast cornering. One can approach a turn going nearly sideways, only to reassert traction and make a turn going full speed. The only downside is that it does take a while to set up for a turn, and thus the Jet Vermillion has issues with rapid sets of tight turns.

This machine has the second best normal top speed and the maximum armor in F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, but it pays for that in having poor acceleration, poor jumping, and poor turn performance.

Plan on where to use this machine's boost. It has the highest top speed, so you really must find a good straightaway to use it on. It maintains its speed from boosts, dash plates, and explosives well.

Master the rocket start to partially mitigate the poor acceleration.

This machine has great armor and good traction, so use explosives on the track for speed boosts.

If the track has ice, use it to drastically improve this vehicle's handling. This vehicle is a master of handling on ice but not on normal tracks.
