The Falcon Punch is a slow, yet powerful move that Captain Falcon uses in Super Smash Bros. It is his Standard Special Move, featured in all six Smash Bros. games.

The Falcon Punch as seen in the move list in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

In Super Smash Bros.

Captain Falcon's Falcon Punch with darkness effect.

Captain Falcon cocks his arm back, calling "FALCON..., and releases it a half-second later, calling "PUNCH!!!", with his fist is enshrouded with flames in the shape of a falcon. The attack is extremely slow, but powerful; It KOs at low percents, and it's priority is extremely high. Falcon is vulnerable during the initial windup, however.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Falcon gained the ability to twist at the beginning of the initial charge, aiming the punch in the opposite direction he started, and giving him a defense against those who try to jump or roll behind him. This turning punch also has added power.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Falcon Punch (along with several other moves in the game) is made more dramatic compared to previous games due to the Special Zoom that was added to certain powerful attacks in Ultimate.

In F-ZERO GP Legend

In the final episode of the anime (The Legend of Falcon), Captain Falcon uses the Falcon Punch to prevent Black Shadow from escaping his Dark Matter Reactor, sacrificing himself and putting an end to Black Shadow once and for all.

  • This move has become somewhat of an internet meme, partly due to the way Captain Falcon performs the move, as well as it's high power.
  • In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Falcon Punch that Kirby gains after inhaling Captain Falcon is actually more powerful than the original.
