F-Zero GP Legend is a series from the F-Zero franchise. It is based off of the original F-Zero trilogy of games, but exists within its own continuity separate from the mainline game's canon. The GP Legend series consists of two games plus an anime style cartoon.
Overview[]
The F-Zero GP Legend series is a colorful cartoon style reimagining of the original F-Zero storyline. Much of GP Legend's continuity follows the same factual canonicity as the mainline games, but with some altering details within various places, as well as introducing new characters exclusive to the series that never made an appearance within the main games. While Captain Falcon is still seen as the general main protagonist of the series, the series introduces a new central protagonist, Rick Wheeler (Ryu Suzaku in Japan). Black Shadow reprises his role from F-Zero X as being the main antagonistic force to Captain Falcon (F-Zero GX introduced a new villain, who acted as the main antagonist behind the game's events).
Notable differences[]
- In the main games, Deathborn was acting as the superior to Black Shadow, while in the "GP Legend" series, the positions are reversed (Black Shadow is the superior to Deathborn).
